Oracle Cloud — UK South Region (London)

Oracle Cloud UK South in London is Oracle's primary United Kingdom cloud region, launched in 2019 to serve UK enterprise, financial services, and public sector customers. The region hosts Oracle's full Infrastructure-as-a-Service stack including compute, networking, storage, and AI services.

The UK South region is a core part of Oracle's EU Sovereign Cloud offering, giving UK customers data residency guarantees under UK GDPR and the UK Cloud Security Principles. Oracle's London region is certified under the UK Government Cloud (G-Cloud) framework, making it eligible for UK public sector contracts.

Oracle expanded its UK presence with a second cloud region — UK North (Newport, Wales) — launched in 2022, creating an in-country redundant pair that mirrors Oracle's European sovereign cloud architecture. Together the two UK regions provide high-availability AI infrastructure for UK financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies that require data to remain on British soil.

For AI workloads, UK South provides access to Oracle AI Infrastructure including NVIDIA A100 and H100 GPU clusters via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) GPU shapes. Oracle has positioned the UK regions as key nodes in its global AI cloud expansion, targeting financial services AI, healthcare AI, and public sector AI modernization. Oracle holds several UK government framework agreements including Crown Commercial Service (CCS) listings.
