Google DeepMind operates AI research compute clusters in London, anchored at its headquarters in King’s Cross. These clusters support training of frontier models including Gemini (jointly with Google Brain, now merged into DeepMind), AlphaFold protein structure prediction, and reinforcement learning research. The London facility is a research-oriented cluster rather than a production data center — focused on experimental training runs and model development. DeepMind researchers use TPU v4 and v5 pods alongside GPU clusters. The Kings Cross campus also serves as a hub for interpretability research and AI safety work. Google’s broader UK data center footprint (Berkshire, London) provides production inference capacity.
