SK Group–AWS Ulsan AI Data Center (South Korea)

SK Group and Amazon Web Services unveiled a joint $5.1 billion investment in June 2025 to develop a hyperscale AI data center campus in Ulsan. The flagship complex anchors a planned “AI Zone” that will ultimately accommodate roughly 1 GW of IT load, making it South Korea’s largest single-site data center project. Groundbreaking is expected by late 2025, with phased buildouts supplying vast GPU capacity for sovereign cloud services, advanced model training, and industrial AI applications tied to the region’s manufacturing base.
