Scaleway — AION 'AI Gigafactory'

The AION project, announced by Scaleway and the Iliad Group in June 2025, is a massive “AI Gigafactory” development at the former Montereau Vallée de la Seine thermal power plant. With a target capacity of 200 MW, the site is designed to host next-generation GPU clusters equivalent to over 288,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs. This project represents a significant leap in European AI infrastructure, aiming to provide a sovereign, high-scale alternative for training and deploying large-scale AI models.
