Microsoft — Markham AI Megaproject

Microsoft’s Markham Megaproject, located on Langstaff Road, is a central pillar of the company’s multi-billion dollar infrastructure expansion in Canada. With a planned capacity of 112 MW, the facility is specifically engineered to host high-density AI workloads, including Azure OpenAI and Microsoft Copilot services. The project is a major contributor to the Toronto area’s 596 MW construction pipeline, which is seeing a shift toward extreme power densities (125 kW+ per cabinet) to support next-generation GPU clusters. The Markham campus is designed to meet strict sustainability standards, leveraging Ontario’s low-carbon grid and utilizing advanced cooling technologies to handle the thermal demands of AI model training.
