Microsoft — Argentina AI Cloud Region

Microsoft announced a $1.7 billion investment in Argentina’s AI and cloud infrastructure in 2024, marking one of the largest foreign technology investments in the country’s history. The investment includes a new Azure cloud region serving Argentina and the broader southern South America market, along with AI skills training programs and partnerships with local government. Argentina represents a significant market for Microsoft AI services due to its large tech sector, growing startup ecosystem, and strong demand for English and Spanish language AI tools. The Buenos Aires region complements Microsoft’s existing Brazilian infrastructure (São Paulo) and extends cloud coverage across the southern cone.
