Stargate Norway — Narvik AI Gigafactory

“Stargate Norway” is a $1 billion “AI Gigafactory” located in Kvandal, near Narvik. A strategic collaboration between OpenAI, Nscale, and Aker, the facility is designed to host 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs by late 2026. The site leverages Narvik’s Arctic climate for free cooling and abundant hydropower for 100% renewable operations. Phase 1 provides 230 MW, with long-term potential to scale to 520 MW. The campus features closed-loop, direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems specifically engineered for next-generation AI model training, positioning Norway as a primary hub for global AI infrastructure.
