Meta’s Fort Worth, Texas data center campus is one of the company’s primary AI training sites in the United States. The campus, which has expanded multiple times since opening in 2017, hosts dense GPU clusters used to train and fine-tune Meta’s Llama large language models. Texas’s deregulated energy market offers competitively priced electricity, and Meta has signed wind PPAs with projects in West Texas to offset its power consumption. The Fort Worth facility is part of Meta’s multi-billion dollar AI infrastructure buildout announced in 2024, which targets a combined 2+ GW AI training capacity across its US campus fleet. Fort Worth benefits from a large local power grid with excess generation capacity, rail access for hardware delivery, and a growing technology workforce in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Meta has deployed its custom MTIA inference chips at scale here alongside NVIDIA H100 and H200 systems. The campus feeds AI compute into Meta’s global network that supports 3.2 billion daily active users.
