Meta’s Eagle Mountain, Utah data center campus is a large-scale facility under development in Utah Valley, approximately 35 miles south of Salt Lake City. The site was selected for its access to renewable energy, land availability, and Utah’s favorable business climate. The campus is designed to support Meta’s growing AI training workloads, particularly for Llama large language model research and Meta AI product deployments.

Eagle Mountain offers proximity to Rocky Mountain Power’s grid, which has a relatively high renewable mix due to regional hydro and wind resources. The Utah campus complements Meta’s existing Western US infrastructure at its Prineville, Oregon facility and the Central US campuses in Iowa and Illinois.

The project received approval from Eagle Mountain City Council and has been through multiple rounds of permitting and environmental review. Infrastructure development began in 2023 and has continued through 2024–2025 with multiple building phases planned across hundreds of acres. The facility will include Meta’s latest AI-optimized infrastructure designs with liquid cooling and high-density GPU cluster support.
