Phase one, completed in 2024, spans seven buildings collectively drawing about 525 megawatts to train Claude AI models. At full buildout, Project Rainier will comprise up to 30 buildings, requiring significant regional grid upgrades to support its multi-gigawatt power requirements. This complex stands as one of the largest single AI training deployments in the world, anchoring Indiana as a major hub for foundation model training infrastructure.
