As part of the multi-billion dollar “Stargate” AI supercomputer buildout, Microsoft and OpenAI are planning a 1.3 GW campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin. This facility is separate from the flagship Mount Pleasant site and is designed to support the massive compute requirements of future reasoning models. The site was selected for its access to stable power grids and potential for advanced cooling solutions. Port Washington is expected to serve as a critical northern node in the Stargate network, with infrastructure optimized for the power-dense requirements of next-generation AI hardware.
