Microsoft — India AI Infrastructure (Hyderabad / Pune)
Hyderabad, Hyderabad (Telangana) / Pune (Maharashtra), India
In December 2025, Microsoft announced its largest-ever investment in Asia, committing $17.5 billion USD (approx. ₹1.5 lakh crore) to build a multi-region AI infrastructure hub in India. A major pillar of this project is the new “India South Central” region in Hyderabad, consisting of three Availability Zones and a total of six data centers with 600 MW of IT load capacity. Additionally, Microsoft is scaling its presence in Pune with the PNQ06 campus (totaling 96 MW) and expanding its existing hubs in Mumbai and Chennai. This “sovereign-ready” hyperscale infrastructure is specifically designed for high-density AI workloads, featuring GPU-accelerated racks and liquid-cooled environments. As part of this commitment, Microsoft also launched a massive skilling initiative to train 20 million Indians in AI by 2030, reinforcing India’s position as a global AI innovation center.
