Scala — AI City (Eldorado do Sul)

Scala’s “AI City” in Eldorado do Sul, Brazil, is one of the world’s largest planned AI infrastructure projects, with a total potential capacity of 4.75 GW. The first phase, providing 54 MW, is already operational or nearing completion as of 2026. The campus is designed specifically for high-density AI workloads, supporting rack densities of 150 kW+ and utilizing liquid cooling. Scala has committed 500 MW of this capacity to Brazil’s “Sovereign AI” initiative in partnership with the federal government. The site leverages the region’s abundant renewable energy and strategic location to serve as a primary hub for AI training and inference in the Southern Hemisphere.
