Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Japan East region in Tokyo is Oracle’s primary cloud hub for the Japanese market. Japan is one of Oracle’s largest enterprise markets globally, and the Tokyo region hosts Oracle Autonomous Database, OCI AI services, and Oracle’s integration platform for the country’s major financial institutions, manufacturers, and telecom companies. Oracle expanded its Japan presence in 2023 with a second Tokyo cluster and announced plans for a second Japanese region in Osaka. NTT and Oracle have a long-standing partnership, with NTT’s enterprise customers using OCI AI for industrial automation, predictive maintenance, and natural language interfaces. Oracle’s Japan region supports GPU-accelerated workloads for generative AI through H100 bare-metal instances. Oracle has committed to transitioning the Japan East region to 100% renewable energy through domestic solar and wind procurement.
