Oracle Cloud — India AI Region (Hyderabad)

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) operates major data center capacity in Hyderabad as one of its two primary India regions (alongside Mumbai). The Hyderabad region hosts OCI compute, storage, and AI/GPU infrastructure serving Indian enterprises, government agencies, and Oracle’s substantial base of existing software customers in India.

India represents one of Oracle’s largest growth markets globally. The Hyderabad region specifically targets India’s Southern tech corridor — Hyderabad hosts a major concentration of IT companies, pharmaceutical firms (Dr. Reddy’s, Aurobindo), and government agencies including several national AI program deployments. Oracle’s cloud AI services include Oracle AI Services (Vision, Language, Document Understanding), OCI GPU clusters for training, and the Cohere large language model platform (Oracle is a major investor in Cohere).

The Stargate project — the SoftBank/OpenAI/Oracle joint venture — includes significant India components, and Oracle’s India infrastructure will play a role in serving AI workloads for the rapidly expanding Indian AI market. Hyderabad’s positioning as Telangana’s “Cyberabad” tech hub and access to fiber connectivity through undersea cables landing in Mumbai and Chennai make it strategically important for Oracle’s APAC AI ambitions.
