Ethiopia — National AI Factory
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Launched in February 2026, the $1 billion Ethiopian National AI Factory is a central pillar of the “Digital Ethiopia 2030” strategy. The project aims to establish a world-class hub for AI research, model training, and data ownership. Powered by Ethiopia’s abundant hydroelectric and modular solar energy, the facility is designed to host NVIDIA-backed GPU superclusters. The “AI Factory” is intended to transition Ethiopia from AI ambition to execution, focusing on applied AI for agriculture and healthcare while ensuring national data sovereignty.
