Launched in January 2025, the AWS Mexico (Central) Region represents a $5 billion USD investment over 15 years. Located in the industrial hub of Querétaro, the region consists of three Availability Zones, each with independent power and cooling. The infrastructure is specifically optimized for high-performance AI workloads, featuring AWS’s custom-designed chips including Graviton for general workloads and Trainium and Inferentia for cost-effective AI training and inference. The project is expected to add $10 billion to Mexico’s GDP and support thousands of jobs, positioning Querétaro as a leading data center hub in Latin America.
